Oh goodness, I wrote in a lot. My first ever fandom was Yu-Gi-Oh! and I found my first ever fic I did with my friend hiding in my closet. lol. It's bad fic for sure. We were teens and didn't even know that we were in fact writing fan fic. And it was her that got me into Saiyuki. I haven't written for that one in a while. Most of mine are in FMA and The A-Team with little bits of Rurouni Kenshin and LOTR thrown about. I did one for the Avenger's. And I do some Cabin Pressure. I used to write bbc Sherlock but haven't written much there for reasons.
I am kinda in between fandoms and when an idea hits me I'll try to write it.
Well, mainly I write for Saiyuki but this year my goal is to really get going on FMA. Kuroshituji is one I'd also like to spend more time with - really I have a lot of other fandoms I am wanting to dabble in, when RL and muses allow. I think I'd do Avengers, as well as BBC Sherlock (although that's a hard fandom) and I have a soft spot for Star Trek TNG. And Mass Effect, lol, the video game.
Anime-wise, I am burning to write GetBackers, X/1999, and Hellsing - all mostly defunct fandoms but I love them still. :) but looking at my WIP folder, I have plenty of Saiyuki one-shots and my Hunters-verse to finish up...so I have no idea what I'll do next. Oh, the life of a procrastinating fandom whore, lol ;)
Oh wow. I love FMA and Kuroshitsuji too. :) That sounds wonderful. I did a few FMA stuff but nothing is finished. I may take up my main one, re-write it and re-post it here and in other FMA coms.
One thing about BBC Sherlock though, stay away from the kink meme. I was badly trolled by those trolls and sometimes they crop up in other Benedict Cumberbatch related fandoms. One even trolled me in Avenger's kink meme, and I was only reading stuff over there. So, if you do decide to fill in that kink meme, go anon and stay anon. TRUST me. I swore to myself after what they did to me that I will always warn people away from that horrible meme. Of course it's not all horrible, there were some cool people. But the Mods did nothing. And the mods of the rant meme are entirely useless. What those trolls did to me was illegal and we all know this. I just can't do anything about it. I don't want you or anyone else to go through what I went through.
I am sorry for that. I want you to enjoy the fandom and have fun and write whatever your muse tells you to write and I want to enjoy it all with you. I don't want your experience in BBC Sherlock fandom to be mine or worse. I hope you understand and please forgive my...rather forceful language. I know that I really have no right to write any of this. I just want to give you fair warning.
Avengers kink meme isn't so bad; they're okay if you can stand all the over labeling of fic. :)
Oh no, don't apologize. A well-meaning word of warning is a good thing, and I appreciate it. I always have a lot of hesitation going into a new fandom anyway, and it's exactly for the reasons you described. Thanks for the heads-up. It will probably be a while before my muses for Sherlock start playing in my head, but when they do, I'll be ready. :D
Thanks for understanding. After my experience there it put a damper on Sherlock for me. I still read some fic in there but I don't ever go to the kink meme I always read it off AO3. I am most annoyed when trolls follow/find me in another fandom and then say something horrible. They don't even know me and it drives me crazy because it not only makes problems for me but the meme itself and then I feel responsible because then everyone else has to deal with stupid comments too,
Now I just always post anon; it saves a shit ton of trouble.
Though, the comms are better because there are rules for tolling I'm part of bbcSherlock and TotallySherlock on LJ and there are tons of fic coming out of those two all day. I don't read half of them but there might be something there you might like, and I've no problems with trolls on either of these comms, so you should join.
:)
I know how muses work; I sometimes can't write a fic and so then I just pop from one project to another. I'm actually doing well on an A-Team fic I'm gonna post here soon.
Thanks for the recs, I will definitely check them out! I still mostly follow comms on LJ; DW doesn't seem to have a lot of activity, at least in the fandoms I like. Although a couple of my favorite video games seem to be much more active, here.
Trolling is the most annoying part of internet life, to me. I haven't gotten caught by much of it in fandom, so far, but I spend a lot of time on gaming sites (huge PS3 fangirl, lol), and those trolls are the ones that get me the most. I understand how you feel! Don't let it get you down - its just a coward's way of getting attention.
I bet with the new laws in Russia that people will be migrating over here as soon as LJ starts deleting anything gay oriented. I'm in a couple of small fandoms but I only participate in one comm here. I remember when DW got started and you had to have an invite from people or pay up to join. I'm glad it's free.
Oh geeze. That sucks. And yes, they are cowards but it's not like you can tell them that. *le sigh*

What other fandoms do you write for?
